Loredana Ivan is Professor at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Communication Department, Bucharest, Romania. She has a PhD in Sociology and a post-doctorate in Social Psychology. She was the chair of ENAS European Network of Aging Studies) between 2019 and 2022. Her areas of interest include: Interpersonal Communication mediated by Technology; Fake News & Generations; Family Communication, Ageism. She has led some special issues in the area of ageing and communication technology: (2023) AI in the Everyday Life of Older Adults: Panacea or Pandora's Box?. Special Issue; (2023) Post-pandemic Digital Realities of Older Adults. Special Issue in Frontiers in Psychology; (2022) Fighting Fake News: A Generational Approach.
Loredana Ivan and Eugène Loos launched the concept visual ageism, currently used in the scientific literature. She is PI for City & Co. Older Adults Co-Creating a Sustainable Age-friendly City (ENUTC EU grants, 2022-2024). Loredana Ivan is co-applicant in the project Aging in Data (2021-2018) financed by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
